MACD, or Moving Average Convergence Divergence, is a popular technical indicator used in cryptocurrency trading to analyze price trends and potential trend reversals. It consists of two components: the MACD line and the signal line. The MACD line is calculated by subtracting the 26-day exponential moving average (EMA) from the 12-day EMA. The signal line is a 9-day EMA of the MACD line.
